九州大学病院は、外来診療棟待合ロビーに西島伊三雄作「博多祇園山笠追い山疾走之図」（幅17m、高さ4m）の陶板壁面を設置しています。
この壁画は、新病院建設を記念して制作したもので、職員全員が一丸となって患者さんの生命を支える本院の医療に対する姿勢と、地域医療連携のシンボルです。病苦を退散させるという山笠発祥の逸話に加え、みなぎる気力と朝を迎えんとする情景に、心の安らぎと生命のエネルギーを患者さんに感じていただければと祈念しています。

"Hakata Gion Yamakasa" Porcelain Panel Wall Painting on the 1st Floor of the Outpatient Ward
Kyushu University Hospital has installed a 17-meter-wide, 4-meter-high Porcelain Panel Wall depicting " Hakata Gion Yamakasa Oiyama Shissso no Zu" by Isao Nishijima in the waiting lobby of the Outpatient Clinic Building.
This wall painting was created to commemorate the construction of the new hospital, and is a symbol of the hospital's attitude toward medical care and regional medical cooperation, in which all staff members work together to support the lives of patients. The hospital hopes that the scene of the morning will provide patients with peace of mind and energy for life.
