Creating the New Era of Kyushu University Hospital Together
Hospital Director Yasuharu Nakashima
Kyushu University Hospital, with a total of 1,362 beds (1,242 at the main hospital and 120 at Beppu Hospital), is one of Japan’s leading university hospitals. It serves as a center for advanced medical care while also playing a vital role as the final safety net for regional healthcare.
Since 2018, I have been involved in hospital management in my role as Vice Director and have faced numerous challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Each time, we have overcome these difficulties through the strength and teamwork of our staff. I firmly believe these experiences demonstrate the true potential of our hospital and its promising future.
Moving forward, I will further advance the development of the hospital based on the following four pillars:
・Promotion of advanced medical care and thorough implementation of patient safety
・Establishment of a solid financial foundation
・Fulfillment of our mission as a core institution in regional healthcare
・Development of healthcare professionals who will shape the future
By driving these four pillars forward, I am committed to building a new era for Kyushu University Hospital together with all of you.
Kyushu University Hospital has grown over its long history through the dedication and aspirations of countless individuals. Entrusted with this legacy, I will continue to uphold our founding principle: to be a hospital that satisfies patients and medical professionals and contributes to the development of medicine.
