Visiting & Facilities


Nurse’s Center / Ward Service Desk (each floor)
We have set visiting hours to ensure that patients have sufficient rest and recuperation,as well as to conduct tests and treatment.
In order to prevent Covid-19 infection, we have decided to prohibit visits except in the following cases.
・When deemed necessary due to the patient’s medical condition (explanation of the patient’s condition, accompanying a patient in a serious condition, etc.)
・When requested by the hospital (waiting for examination or surgery, etc.)

Visiting Hours

[ Weekdays ]
1:00pm-6:00pm (including Sat, Sun, and Holiday)

Notes

  • Visitors and hospitalized patients must wear face masks.
  • Please use the day room when meeting visitors.
  • Visiting hours should be as short as possible, approximately 15 minutes.
  • Please limit the number of visitors to two.
    Please refrain from meeting with a large number of people, as it will interfere with other patients.
  • Please refrain from meeting with visitors accompanied by, children with fever, people with
    epidemic diseases such as cold, and children under 7 yrs. old (before entering elementary
    school), to avoid infection. Also children under 13 yrs. old (before entering junior high school)
    cannot enter the Inpatient Ward on the 6F and 11F of the North Ward.
  • Please do not talk loudly.
  • We may refuse visitors to meet patients according to patients’ request. Also we may not be able to answer the inquiries about patients.
  • Fresh flowers cannot be brought into the room.
  • Please refrain from driving to the hospital as much as possible since the parking lot capacity is limited. If you come by car, parking fee will be charged.
  • Beware of theft since many people come and go in the hospital. Please pay attention to your belongings such as a bag, phone, etc.

Protection of the Patient’s Privacy

The following rules are for the protection of the patient’s privacy.
We cannot give out any information about patients by phone. If anyone asks, we will tell them to ask the patient’s family.
If you do not want visitors, tell the hospital staff at your ward when you first come to the hospital. If anyone comes to ask questions about you at the reception desk, we will reply that we cannot answer.
Unless you have said that you do not want to meet any visitors, the staff will let people come to see you. You cannot ask the staff to only let some people in, and not others.

Hospital Facilities

Kyushu University Hospital has a shop that sells pajamas, tissue, snacks, and office supplies. There is also a restaurant, cafe, hairdresser, barber and library that visitors can use.

Using the University Library


Branch Library in the Hospital Campus
・The Kyushu University Medical Library is also available for patients and their families. The Medical Library does not offer a circulation service.

Hospital Library (‘The Library of Love’ Ai-no-Toshoshitsu)


“ai-no-toshoshitsu” Library Room
The‘Library of Love’ located on the South Ward 4F.
The library offers a free circulation service for books and audio books (recoding tapes, CDs, MP3s) to patients. Please prepare the playback device on your own.
