Q1.Can I see a doctor if I don't have a referral letter but pay?
In principle, this hospital is by referral and appointment only.
If you do not have a referral letter, there are some departments that you cannot visit.
If you do not have a referral letter, an additional fee of 7,700 yen for medical care and 5,500 yen for dental care will be required.
Q2. Can I see a doctor on weekends and public holidays?
Consultations are only available on weekdays.
Q3. Can I get medicine at the hospital?
As a general rule, this hospital issues prescriptions for outside pharmacies.
Q4. Can I specify which doctor will examine me?
As a general rule, doctors cannot be designated.
Q5. Can I specify the gender of the doctor?
As a general rule, you cannot specify the gender of the doctor or hospital staff.
Q6. Is it necessary to wear a mask when visiting the hospital?
As a guideline from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the basic rule for wearing a mask is “individual judgment”, but we ask that you wear a mask in the hospital to prevent the spread of infection.
Q7. Do you have health checks?
We do not perform health checks.
Q8. Do you provide vaccinations (for infants and young children, including rabies)?
We only give vaccinations when the doctor deems it necessary.
Q9. Do you provide interpretation services?
There are interpreters on hand in the hospital who can interpret between English and Chinese from 8:30 to 17:15 on weekdays.
In addition, remote medical interpretation is available in 32 languages.
Q10. Do you provide translation services?
We only handle English and Chinese translations.

Hospitalization
Q13. What are the visiting hours?

Q15. Is there a smoking area in the hospital?
Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted anywhere on the Kyushu University Maidashi Campus (Hospital District).
Q16. Do you have pajamas available for loan?
We lend out hospital gowns. There is a charge for the loan.
*Hospital gowns are changed three times a week in summer and twice a week in winter, and are changed whenever they become dirty.
Q17. Do you need a companion when you are hospitalized? Can you do it?
There is no need for a companion.
However, depending on the patient's condition, a family member may accompany the patient with the permission of the doctor.
In this case, please go through the necessary procedures for family members to stay in the hospital at the Ward.
Please note that we do not allow companions to stay in the hospital at the patient's expense.
Q18. Can I use my cell phone in the ward?
Please use the day room as much as possible. Please refrain from using mobile phones in the 4-person rooms.
Q19. Can I get a haircut at the hospital?
For haircuts, there is a beauty salon and a barber shop on the first floor of the West Wing building.
Q20. Can I send flowers to the patient?
You cannot bring your own flowers.
Q21.Do you cater for halal food?
We can provide meals for people with allergies.
When you are admitted to hospital, please inform the relevant department or the Perioperative Support Center of any foods or ingredients that should be removed.
However, please understand that we cannot respond to all requests.
Q22. Is there a prayer room?
It is located on the 2nd floor of the Daiichi Pharmacy Building in front of the hospital.

You can pay with a debit card.

Q24. Can I use the internet in the hospital?
An Internet terminal (fee required) is available in the day room. The terminal can be used with a TV card.
We allow visitors to bring their own computers, tablets, and mobile Wi-Fi.
Free Wi-Fi service (for patients only) has been available since November 2021.
